Early Life and Passion

Born on November 11, 1996, in Matsudo-shi Chiba, Japan, Ken Kahre was the beloved child of Kimiko Kahre and Stephen Kahre. With a passion for truck driving, Ken found joy in exploring the open road. Outside of work, he cherished his dog Luna, immersed himself in video games, admired sports cars, embraced outdoor adventures, and enjoyed watching anime.

Mourning the Loss

Ken leaves behind a grieving family, including his loving parents Kimiko and Stephen, and his brother Shawn T. Kahre of Evanston, IL. He will be deeply missed by his paternal grandfather, Frank Kahre, and maternal grandmother, Yoshiko Wakui of Japan. Ken’s memory will be cherished by his uncles, Dave Kahre (Gayle) and Naomichi Wakui (Keiko), as well as his aunt, Chris McCrary (Scott). Cousins Nathan, Melissa, Jacob, and David Kahre, Gus and Kahre McCrary, and Daisuke Wakui also mourn the loss. The family was preceded in death by Ken’s paternal grandmother, Katy Kahre, maternal grandfather, Michio Wakui, and uncle Frank Kahre.

Visitation and Service Details

A visitation to honor Ken Kahre will be held at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Vincennes Chapel on Sunday, June 18, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A service will follow on Monday, June 19, 2023, at 10:00 A.M., officiated by Fr. Tony Ernst. The burial will take place at St. Vincent Cemetery.
