Missing Person:Jasmine Robinson Missing - Desperate Search for Pregnant Woman Continues

In the following days, Jasmine failed to show up for work and missed a scheduled doctor’s appointment, deepening the worry of her family. On February 20, 2019, her sister Shantavia officially reported her missing. Investigators believe someone picked her up that night since Jasmine did not have her own vehicle.

Despite her unexpected absence, Jasmine left behind her personal belongings and money at home, taking only her cell phone. Complicating matters, she faced possible jail time for prior charges of grand theft and fraudulent credit card use. Additionally, Jasmine, who openly identified as a lesbian, was pregnant, expecting her first child—a surprising development for her family, who knew her to exclusively date women.

Troubling Relationships and a Person of Interest

Before her disappearance, Jasmine confided in her sister about receiving upsetting calls from the suspected father of her child. The man, identified as 56-year-old Christopher Wiggins, was much older and married. He urged her to have an abortion, expressing his disapproval of the pregnancy.

Furthermore, Jasmine revealed the identity of the alleged father, which led to his wife discovering the situation. Tensions escalated between Jasmine and Wiggins in the 24 hours preceding her disappearance. While Wiggins has not been charged in connection to the case, he is considered a person of interest.

Ongoing Search and Plea for Information

Despite extensive searches in the county and surrounding areas, investigators have yet to uncover any leads regarding Jasmine’s whereabouts. Her family firmly believes Wiggins could be involved, as Jasmine intended to keep her baby—a daughter she planned to name Jamilia.

Detective Chris Weitzel, from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, continues to diligently pursue answers to bring closure to Jasmine’s family. Cellular, social media, and banking activities related to Jasmine have ceased since her disappearance.
