Remembering the Life of Kortney Angleberger
The Keymar community is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Kortney Layne Angleberger, a vibrant and beloved member of the community. At the age of 28, Kortney unexpectedly passed away on June 4, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A Life Filled with Joy and Compassion
Kortney was born on July 6, 1994, in Frederick, MD, to Jody Layne Angleberger and Melissa Dewees Angleberger. She graduated from Walkersville High School in 2012 and dedicated her career to serving as a dietary site assistant for Frederick County Public Schools.
Beyond her work, Kortney had a zest for life and a passion for various activities. She adored pickles, enjoyed kayaking, and found joy in playing softball. Additionally, she had a remarkable affinity for rescuing animals, showcasing her compassionate nature. However, Kortney’s greatest source of happiness came from being a loving and devoted mother to her son, Dominic Cleaver.
Cherished Memories and Loved Ones Left Behind
Kortney Angleberger’s memory will forever be treasured by her parents, Jody Layne Angleberger and Melissa Dewees Angleberger. She is survived by her beloved son, Dominic Cleaver, and his father, Blayn. Her presence will also be deeply missed by her sister, Kahla Angleberger, and brother, Paul Angleberger.
Kortney’s passing has left a void in the hearts of her paternal grandfather, James Angleberger, and maternal grandparents, Janice Foreman and Calvin Dewees. She also leaves behind her boyfriend, Jerry Lee Thompson, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Arrangements and Memorial Service
To honor Kortney Angleberger’s life, the family will receive friends on Monday, June 12th, from 1-3 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the New Midway Fire Hall, located at 12019 Woodsboro Pike in New Midway, MD.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 13th, at 11 a.m. at the New Midway Fire Hall, officiated by Pastor Ernie Witmer. Following the service, Kortney will be laid to rest in the peaceful surroundings of Mt. Hope Cemetery.
