A Life of Love and Dedication
Born on February 10, 1961, to Gene and Jean McGillis in Superior, WI, Tim’s life was marked by a deep commitment to his family. After graduating from Superior High School in 1979, he pursued a degree in business at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. It was during his tenure at James River Corporation in Neenah, WI that Tim’s path crossed with the love of his life, Judith Tuttle. In 1984, he embraced a sales position at Badger Plug Company in Greenville, WI, which would shape his professional journey.
Love, Family, and Shared Passions
Tim and Judith’s serendipitous encounter led to a love story that lasted a lifetime. Their marriage on July 22, 1989, was blessed with the joy of four daughters: Kaitlyn, Elyse, Molly, and Brynne. Tim cherished his role as a “girl-dad” and took immense pride in supporting his daughters’ endeavors, from their sports activities to their show choir performances. The family spent cherished moments together, whether on the boat during summer weekends, attending concerts, or embracing the Wisconsin tradition of tailgating and cheering on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
Embracing Life’s Passions
Beyond his dedication to family, Tim had a zest for life and a diverse range of hobbies. Golfing was a passion he enjoyed, and he relished playing in the Member-Guest tournament at Butte des Morts Country Club with his sons-in-law. Additionally, Tim nurtured a love for flying and was in the process of restoring his own plane, aspiring to fulfill his dream of flying to the family cabin in Lake Nebagamon, WI. The cabin held a special place in his heart, and he cherished the time spent there with loved ones, whether skiing in the winters or snowmobiling with his brother.
Remembering Tim McGillis
Timothy Shawn McGillis is survived by his beloved wife, Judith, their four daughters, his father, Gene McGillis, siblings, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends who will deeply miss him. A “Celebration of Life & Memorial Service” will be held on Thursday, June 15th, 2023, from 11:30am-2:30pm at Butte des Morts Country Club in Appleton, WI. The family welcomes all those who wish to pay their respects and share memories of Tim during this gathering.
