Surfside Beach, a popular Gulf of Mexico destination located approximately 60 miles south of downtown Houston, was the site of a horrifying incident when an elevated boardwalk suddenly collapsed. More than 20 teenagers from the Bayou City Fellowship church summer camp visiting Stahlman Park in Surfside Beach were injured in the incident, which occurred around 1 p.m. local time.
Injuries Reported and Medical Response
According to officials from Brazoria County, five of the injured teens were airlifted by helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, while six were transported by ambulance to local hospitals. Additionally, ten more individuals sought medical attention in private vehicles. Thankfully, there were no life-threatening injuries reported among the victims.

The teenagers involved in the boardwalk collapse were part of the Bayou City Fellowship group, ranging in age from 14 to 18 years old. They had traveled from Cypress, Tomball, and Spring Branch, Texas, to enjoy their summer camp experience at Surfside Beach.
